Video projects in primary schools (Otto-Wels)
The Otto-Wels- Grundschule in Berlin, has a multi-ethnic background; more than 70% of the pupils have a mothertongue other than german.
Last year they produced a small film with pupils from the 5. grade (age: 11). They had to explain something about their migration and the countries they or their parents came from. They could decide what they find important and describe how their national identity is represented in Berlin. Showing some film scenes would be possible.
The idea is to raise similar film projects at different schools next year, and probably end up with a little film festival.
